Individual Counseling

Individual sessions are typically 45-60 minutes long. Online sessions can help to remove barriers to emotional health by enabling you to receive services anywhere your day may take you! You will want to make sure that for individual sessions you are in a private space where you feel comfortable.

Online counseling is a great option for those who:
Desire flexible scheduling.
Need the freedom to participate in sessions from anywhere in Georgia.
Have limited childcare options.
Want access to a clinician outside your local area.
Would like to avoid the hassles of traffic and parking.

You're welcome to have your babies with you during your session, but I'd encourage you to consider the age of your child, what may be discussed in session, and your counseling goals. In some situations it works out well and in others it may not be in your best interest. If you would like to have a session with an older child or other loved ones present I typically recommend that we have a preparatory discussion prior to including them to insure you and I are on the same page.

You will need to have a video-enabled device (computer, phone, tablet, etc.) and an active WiFi or data connected to that device. The platform we’ll use is similar to Skype or Facetime, but it is HIPAA compliant to protect your privacy. Overall, if you are able to stream or watch videos on your device without issue, your internet should be able to handle the session. Headphones are not a requirement, but can be helpful in reducing audio interference.

PLEASE NOTE: Online counseling is not appropriate for people in crisis. If you are experiencing thoughts of harming yourself or someone else, please call the suicide hotline 1-800-273-8255, 911, or go to your nearest emergency room.
